“Jury Duty” is a weekly column that spotlights different Brandeis student-athletes. Please email sports@thejustice.org if you would like to nominate someone. We hope to bridge the gap between student-athletes and non student-athletes by highlighting relatable content to make the community feel more approachable. If you see a highlighted athlete around campus, introduce yourself! Or head to Gosman and cheer them on.

Dylan Walters ’24, a member of the Brandeis men’s tennis team, was recently named one of the Brandeis Athletes of the Week for the week of April 10. The Baltimore native has racked up several wins for the Judges, and got the award by going 2-2 for the week, with two wins at the No. 1 singles spot and dropping two close doubles matches with Pierce Garbett ’27.

Walters is no stranger to recognition, earning 2023 All-University Athletic Association second-team at No. 1 doubles, the March 28, 2023 UAA Player of the Week and he was the 2023 UAA Spring All-Academic Recognition Honoree. According to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, Walters has a win-loss record of 17-4 in singles for the 2023-2024 school year.

Off the court, Walters works at the Gosman Sports and Convocation Center front desk and enjoys hanging out in the Shapiro Campus Center. Walters is currently majoring in Business and  minoring in Psychology. His interest in finance has led him to pursue his Masters of Business Administration at the Brandeis International Business School. Additionally, he likes listening to house and rap music and music by Mau P. His favorite ice cream flavor is Cookies & Cream, and a fun fact about him is that he is family friends with Jim Harbaugh. Go cheer on Walters and the men’s tennis team this Saturday, April 20 at Tufts University! Go Judges!
