Team falls in heartbreaking loss at home

In a season marred by the injury bug, the women's soccer team has found it necessary to overcome demanding situations at various points during the course of the year. Last Wednesday on Gordon Field, the team could not work their magic and overcome a trying situation as they fell to Castleton State College 3-2 on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament. Even in the loss, coach Denise Dallamora was proud of the way her team fought through a closely contested game. "I thought we played very well up until the last eight minutes [of regulation]," she said.


Team loses tough tournament games

The women's volleyball team had an opportunity to make one final statement in hosting the 2013 University Athletic Association tournament this weekend, squaring off in heated rivalries against its conference foes.


Teams perform well in final meet of regular season

The men's and women's cross country teams completed an impressive weekend this past Saturday when both teams excelled at the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn. Led by Amelia Lundkvist '14, the women finished third out of 21 competing teams with an average time of 22 minutes, 33 seconds and 108 points, only 11 points behind second place Ohio Wesleyan University and an average time of 10 seconds behind first-place Tufts University, who entered the competition ranked No.


Women get win to close Round Robin

In the first round of the University Athletic Association Round Robin tournament, the volleyball squad posted a 1-2 record and saw their season record slide to 9-12 overall and 1-2 in UAA play. Hosted by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, the weekend started poorly for the Judges in losses to both 18th ranked University of Chicago and 9th ranked Washington University in St.


Hood gets 1,000th kill in victory over Bates

The Brandeis University women's volleyball team entered the Midcoast Classic-cohosted by Bates College and Bowdoin College-with a chance to compete before the first round of University Athletic Association Round Robins on Saurday. Little did they know they were about to witness history, as outside hitter Liz Hood '15 became just the ninth player in Brandeis history to record 1,000 kills during the team's 3-2 victory over Bates in the tournament's finale. "It was a good, positive, part of the game," said Hood.
