Inclement weather lead to cancellations for baseball, softball and track and field

This week, Brandeis athletics saw numerous cancellations due to inclement weather. The softball team’s game on the road at Clark University on Saturday was postponed until a date yet to be determined. The Judges will face off against Bates College tomorrow for the team’s first home matchup of the season. 






Squads compete against regional ranked teams

The men and women’s tennis team returned to New England last weekend with four games against regional opponents, though neither squad was able to pick up a victory. The women’s squad, ranked 26th nationally, dropped a pair of 9-0 decisions to the No. 16 Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday and No. 10 Middlebury College on Sunday. The men, 33rd in the country, fell 7-2 to No. 3 Middlebury on Saturday and 5-3 to No. 29 Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday.


Everton F.C. wins key game at home as it struggles to keep up in Premier League standings

This weekend, Premier League team Everton F.C. hosted Newcastle F.C. for a very important game for both teams. Everton is suffering from a recent slump, with no wins in their last five games. Though the team is showing good form in Europe, manager Robert Martinez is under pressure to lift the team to safety and towards a more favorable position in the table, as they are currently sitting seven points above the relegation zone. Newcastle is coming off some erratic play, with many of the fans unhappy with the way the team is approaching their games and their league standing. 




Women claim first ECAC title since 2005

The women’s basketball team found themselves trailing at the tail end of regulation in a back-and-forth contest in the championship game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference tournament on Sunday afternoon. Looking for their third ECAC title in school history, the sixth-seeded Judges were down 61-58 to the top-seed Westfield State University with just over one minute remaining in a contest that had already featured six ties and nine lead changes.



Men's and Women’s basketball teams capture UAA individual honors for season

The women’s basketball team saw four players named to the All-University Athletic Association teams last week while the men’s squad saw its offensive leader named co-UAA Rookie of the Year. The women were led by the selection of guard Hannah Cain ’15 to the All-UAA Second Team.
