OP-ED:Sexist remarks ignore female prowess

According to Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Alfred Lubrano, "in places like Brandeis University, young women are reporting that they're drinking more, and that they're confused and aching, referring to themselves as whores, saying they feel empty."Lubrano, in his "Unconventional Wisdom" column, writes that girls today are perpetuating the "slut culture" in order to assert themselves.


A refreshing look at gender

JustArts: Do you have any goals for your talks here at Brandeis, anything that you're really looking to educate the college population about in terms of the transgender world?Kate Bornstein: Not in terms of the transgender world so much as what I would like to do is enable people to see that there are more possibilities of expressing themselves in terms of the gender they are assigned.
