Club Sports Brief: Sailing team wins first meet against tough New England field

The Brandeis University sailing team excelled in its Nov. 6 competition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, notching both first- and fifth-place finishes at the Professor Noringer Bowl for its first victory in the regatta in more than three years.The event featured several of the top New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association teams, including Brown University, MIT, Bowdoin College and Middlebury College.The women's team emerged victorious in the event, with the A and B teams each posting point totals of 17.


Volleyball: Judges snap skid in home finale

After dropping two matches to start the Judges Classic last weekend, the volleyball team did justice to the senior members of the team by defeating Clarkson University 3-1 in its final home game of the season.Earlier Saturday, the Judges were swept 3-0 in a highly anticipated rematch against Tufts University, and they also lost 3-1 to the University of Massachusetts Boston in the first match of the tournament last Friday.


Volleyball: Team storms back to victory

After dropping the first two sets of last Tuesday's match against Endicott College by scores of 26-24 and 25-23, the Judges rallied back and won the next three sets 25-23, 25-14 and 15-13 to win the match and improve their record to 8-2 on the year.Outside hitter Paige Blasco '11 led all players in the match with 23 kills, while middle blocker Nicole Smith '11 contributed 15 kills to the effort.
