Make the most of your Brandeis experience

I can't summarize my college experience in a single article and I won't even try. What I can do is attempt to summarize my thoughts on the people and culture of Brandeis, while offering up a few pieces of advice.

According to a leaked document from the New York Police Department, its Intelligence Unit has been monitoring and collecting information on businesses, explicitly because of the owners' religion, specifically second and third-generation Muslim Americans.


Utilize criticism to improve universities

We often forget just how young online social networking is. Just because we spend so much time checking our Facebook pages and interacting over the Internet doesn't mean that we really understand the implications of what we do online.


Stop brain drain by lowering tuition

Americans overestimate the quality of our education. That is not to say that we don't have world-class colleges and universities, but as much as we value our own system, we underestimate those of other countries.


Post-9/11 film doesn't relate

Making a movie that revolves around Sept. 11 is a risky endeavor. Downplaying the significance of the day seems disrespectful, and over-indulgence seems tasteless and cheapens the other events depicted.
