Professors present Justice Brandeis Semester proposals at workshop

A Justice Brandeis Semester workshop was held last Wednesday to encourage University faculty to design pilot JBS programs for summer 2010 and the next academic year.The workshop, although specifically held for faculty, was also attended by Student Union representatives such as Union President Andy Hogan '11 in order to provide student input.


Brandeis Liberal Arts Posse on hiatus

The University has temporarily suspended the Brandeis Liberal Arts Posse, one of the two merit-based scholarship programs offered by the Brandeis Posse program, for the fall of 2010 due to financial hardship, according to Dean of Academic Services Kim Godsoe.


Students aid in filling Miles' post

A student committee is providing input on the hiring of the University new senior vice president of Communications by conducting interviews with the three finalists for the position, according to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Peter French.The University received 20 applications for the position, French wrote in an e-mail to the Justice.

The Student Union Constitution will undergo a compulsory review next month conducted by an independent Constitutional Review Task Force, according to Student Union President Andy Hogan '11.The review, which is mandated to take place every four years as per the Union Constitution, will be conducted not by a University administrative body, but departments such as the Department of Community Living may be approached for advice, Hogan said.

New meal plan added

Dining Services is introducing the Wiser Plan, a new meal plan for students who are not required to have a full meal plan, as well as several other dining changes this fall.The Wiser Plan, designed for students who live off campus and those who live in campus housing with full kitchens, offers students 35 meals and 300 Dining Dollars per semester.


MOSAIC program revamped

The MOSAIC program for new student orientation will take place during regular orientation this year and include a yearlong mentor/mentee program.The MOSAIC program is no longer a preorientation program for which interested students must arrive on campus early.
