With the regular season nearing its end, the women’s soccer team pushes on. The team has one game left in the season. Currently, the team has an overall score of 12–3. With the end of the season nearing, the Judges have had an amazing season. The first game of this week was scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 23, against Simmons College. However, the game was canceled.

With their season almost at its conclusion, the Brandeis men’s soccer team can now reflect on their season as a whole. As has been a recurring theme throughout the season, the team garnered high expectations after making it to the Division III Final Four just last year. However, with a 7-8-2 record and one game left to play, it is safe to say that those expectations have not been met. Still, though, the team has a lot to be proud of, and the season will be remembered for its high points and its low points. Unfortunately, one of the low points came last week — the team is currently riding a three-game losing streak.

The Judges continued their season this week with two games against non-University Athletic Association rivals Wellesley College and the University of Massachusetts-Boston. With the two losses that resulted from these matches, the Judges are now 11–16 overall for the season. Looking ahead, the Judges will play at the UAA tournament on Friday at the University of Rochester, where they will take on UAA rivals Emory University and Carnegie Mellon University. Brandeis is currently 0–7 in the UAA.

After a dominant playoff run, the Boston Red Sox took home their first World Series win since 2013. This season, the team amassed 108 wins and was the top team of the stacked American League East division. Their sworn rivals, the New York Yankees, won 100 games this year, which ordinarily would have easily gotten them the division crown, but only earned them a wild card spot. This just goes to show how historic this year’s Sox squad was.

The Brandeis men’s soccer team has almost completed their regular season. They had a campaign defined by high expectations and close games. After starting off slow, they picked up as of late and won a few key games. This past week, they faced off against Clark University and Amherst College. Here is how the team fared in those games.

Kicking off another impressive week for the Judges, the women’s soccer team pushed forward and defeated Westfield State University on Wednesday. This game, hosted by Westfield State at Alumni Field, improved the Judges’ record to 11–2 for the season, according to D3Soccer.com. As of Oct. 14, the Judges have a conference standing of 3–1–0, and in addition, as of Oct. 16th the Judges were ranked number 15—tied with Hanover College—by NCAA Women’s DIII.

The men’s and women’s tennis teams both wrapped up their fall seasons with two different matches. The men’s team attended the Tufts-Deis Invitational that was held at both Brandeis and Tufts Universities, and the women’s team attended the Middlebury Hidden Duals at Middlebury College. The teams continue to fight a strong set of matches against their opponents.

The Judges improved this week, breaking their most recent four-game losing streak. They won the past three matches with an impressive match score of 3–0 against all three opponents. They have improved to 11–14 overall, and looking ahead, the Judges will face Wellesley College on Thursday.

Facing the University of Rochester Yellowjackets and the Emory University Eagles, the women's soccer team have continued their impressive season. With 12 games behind them and only five left to go in the season, the Judges have had an amazing run. Looking ahead, the Judges will take on Westfield State University on Wednesday.

The men’s soccer team welcomed two of their vaunted University Athletic Association opponents to Gordon Field this past week. Each game was a marathon, going into either one or two overtimes. Even with all the extra soccer, the Judges escaped the week with a split decision, winning one game and losing the other. This improved their record to 7–5–1 (2–1–1 in UAA play).
