EDITORIAL: Prof Hindley deserves better

Abstract:
The administration conducted a month long investigation into complaints of anonymous students that Prof. Donald Hindley (LALS) made racist comments before deciding to place a monitor in the classroom, but judging by the reaction of his students, it seems that the process wasn't exhaustive enough....

Professor Hindley was not only my professor for Southeast Asian Politics, but also my adviser and a friend. Professor Hindley has a unique was of connecting with his class. Through humor and through sarcasm Professor Hindley is able to keep learning exciting. He is a brilliant mind with years of teaching experience. Sometimes his sarcasm did seem on the edge, but at the end of the day, if you had been coming to class regularly, you knew where he was coming from. I am not on campus, so I only know about this situation from this editorial, but I hope for Professor Hindley's sake as well as the rest of the students that have yet gotten to take one of his courses, that everything works itself out.

The administration has wanted to get rid of Hindley for a long time. They just needed a phony excuse and here it is.
